  •  I love to bake (10+ / 0-)

And I love this story!  My daughter's birthday is coming up and she loves chai tea so I will give this cake a try.  One word about substitutions in baking, you are right never mess with things like the amount of leavening (baking powder or soda), the eggs, the flour or any of the items that I call structural (sugar is structural).  However, flavorings, things like spices, nuts, dried fruits can be adjusted in moderation (but never use a tablespoon of an ingredient if a teaspoon is called for.)  I really tip my hat to you for the bread pudding idea, it sound delicious!

Why should we trust anyone who "lies for the Lord"?

    •  I hope it comes out well! (0+ / 0-)

And Happy Birthday to her from a fellow Libra. :)

If you have any of the cake left over, try using that for bread pudding.  Or you could bake a loaf of this batter, let it sit for two days, and use it for bread pudding instead.

Hope is a good thing--maybe the best of things--and no good thing ever dies.
