      I think my credentials as to opposing polling conspiracy theories are in reasonably good order.

      As far as I'm concerned, the polling denialism and the most frantic reactions to the polls are, more or less, equal and opposite overanalysis. Some of your own inferences at least verge on overanalysis, but I can see where you're coming from based on the data.

      I'm not proposing to split the difference, just to weed out the guff and then see what's left. We have insufficient data, so it would be pretty alarming if we all interpreted the available data in the same way.

      Dismiss them out of hand.

      But I also believe certain reactions made a situation worse.

      When we were ahead, people at DailyKos said to fight like we were behind. When we were behind, people at DailyKos said to give up.
