  •  day 4 for me. Hacking until my head aches (7+ / 0-)

and my ribs are sore.  Enough already.

    •  this is day 8 - head hurts, eyes in and out of (5+ / 0-)

focus, hacking until i'm too exhausted to hack any more!

i stayed in bed the first five days - flat out - no going anywhere (no sharing) - day six, my b-day, out to see how my pony is doing - he pulled his shoulder when he feel to his knees oggling his girl friend sat a week ago - so i wanted to personally check up on him.  he's delighted i'm not trying to ride him right now, poor bubby...

that was yesterday - today, back flat out.  this is NOT fun!

i have two things i really want to do later this week and i'm determined to be better.  aHA!  i can grab another bottle of pumpkin ale - that will definitely help!

drink loads of fluids - it's so easy to dehydrate with this thing!  i'm actually resorting to electrolyte replacement - it is helping.

feel better and get over it soon - sooner than me! 'mkay?

      •  son brought me 4 bottles of gatorade especially (1+ / 0-)

        for the electrolytes.

        •  you have a GOOD son! 8^) (1+ / 0-)

i try to avoid the sugar and found a new electrolyte water by "365" - tastes just like WATER!

but i was ready to hit the gatorade until i found this.

i do feel a bit better right now - another all day sleep in - like i can really afford to do that!  8^(

i'm supposed to be making and posting jewelry prior to the surgery - don't want to make anything until i'm not coughing - sending germs with jewelry isn't nice!

today is better, though. didn't wake up coughing and only minor ones when i move around.  i HOPE this is breaking now!

    •  Oh no, sounds like a bad one this year (3+ / 0-)

What part of the country are you in? I'm hoping it doesn't hit TX for a while... I am planning to get my flu shot tomorrow. Take care of yourselves and drink lots of ginger ale or whatever you can stomach!

      •  california is being hit hard... and early. (4+ / 0-)

wondering if it has to do with the start of school - and grocery stores.  i am SO glad they now put out the sanitizing wipes for the carts.  i shop in the middle of the night now to avoid the wee tykes in baskets that are at head level for their spraying.

i know they can't help it but i'm so tired of getting these things.  ugh.

        1)  There's a nasty flu going around.

        2)  It's really nasty.

        3)  It's hitting CA early, so y'all everywhere else are getting the early reports on how nasty it is.

        4)  Flu shots are cheap at local clinics & pharmacies.

        5)  Flu shots will also prevent you becoming an asymptomatic carrier (that's a euphemism for "disease vector") and infecting other people even if you don't get sick yourself.  You don't want to infect your family, friends, and coworkers.

        6)  Don't let the rightie-winger anti-vaccination paranoid conspiracy nutjobs scare you, any more than rightie-winger nutjobs scare you away from the voting booth.

        7)  Do it now.  Today or tomorrow.  Don't put it off.

        8)  And most importantly, you do not want to spread flu to fellow Democrats, because there is nothing worse than being too sick to vote.

        9)  On the other hand, if you don't get vaccinated and start to feel a flu coming on, volunteer at a Romney call center, and be sure to sneeze and cough without covering your mouth, and don't wash your hands after you blow your nose, and do shake hands with all the other Romney volunteers.  And be sure to cough and sneeze while you're on the phone urging Republicans to vote for Mitt "because Wall Street trumps Sesame Street and kids don't need G-rated entertainment anyway."

"Minus two votes for the Republican" equals "plus one vote for the Democrat." Arithmetic doesn't care about their feelings either!

off to volunteer now...  hee hee hee....

but on a serious note - this one is bad - the worst i've had in decades!  it starts sneakily (like mitt) and then just makes you flat on your back - and when you think it is finally done, it reappears with a vengeance!)

          get a flu shot!
