  •  Maybe you should go back and watch (0+ / 0-)

the rest of the debate after those first 10 minutes. He did point out Romney was changing his position on taxes.

    •  sure I saw it but he didn't refute anything else (0+ / 0-)

and he made the tax point in a standard politician monotone. Look, I'm not concern trolling here - as if it would matter in a Daily Kos thread - but the universal opinion in the outside world amongst partisans and, it appears, low information voters is that Obama didn't bring it. Your implication that I only watched 10 minutes might be revealing a little bit of hurt feelings. I'm not here to cheer lead. Obama screwed up. Will it cost us the election? Doubtful is my uneducated opinion. If he is this flat in the next two debates it could be a bigger problem. I like Obama. I think he's a better person than his policy sausage making reveals. I despise Romney and think he's creepier and eviler than he plays on TV. But scored as a boxing match Obama was way behind on points by the end. And yes I watched the whole thing. (and I don't blame Lehrer one bit)

like a fast talking crooked used car salesman, and never will. Sorry. If that's what you are looking for in a president, Mitt Romney is definitely your man.

        •  and so you resort to a cheap insult (0+ / 0-)

How typical of some kos threaders. You haven't really responded to any points except to imply I didn't watch the debate. But emotionally you're so invested in your superhero President that you lash out. Which is ... somewhat pathetic though not bad by internet standards. Obama's a politician. I remember the first debate against McCain. He was good in that - not great, good. Debating isn't his strong point - he's a much better orator. So far he's been a good President. Not great, that's for the second term.

Let's hope he brings it in the next debate though my guess is it matters less and less as we get closer. There's a smear coming about Syria so here's hoping Bill Clinton is going over his planned reactions with him.

I'm guardedly optimistic right now. If it comes down to the ground game I think we're way ahead.
