  •  Honestly I don't think the hysteria will end (4+ / 0-)

    anytime soon.  And it doesn't have anything to do with the debates at this point -- though it certainly crystalized the feelings of dismay.  I think anyone who has paid attention to what Rmoney has been saying, to ALEC, to the Koch brothers, to the Republican governors and to the Republican party in general is properly terrified of a Republican loss.  And what I think the debate did for us was to remind us just how different average voters are from those of us who stay informed.  I was starting to think that maybe people were a little smarter than Romney and his ilk were giving them credit for.  But the reaction to the debate and the subsequent polls have reminded me just how difficult our position is.  Because no matter how poor the President's performance was, any thinking person could not have been impressed by Romney's lies.  But many, many people were, even if it's temporary.  So, I for one, will probably be in panic mode until this is over.  Because even if the polls swing back, they same voters who liked Romney last week are still out there.
