  •  If the nominee of a major Party tells 27 lies (12+ / 0-)

this independent clause points directly to what should cause the good people of this country to throw the entire "republican" party out of all elected office.
the paragraph "If the nominee of a major Party tells 27 lies on Wednesday, dismissing hard economic data that unemployment in the United States is at it lowest level in four years on Friday as fraudulent, he can be leverage that through the media’s commitment to moral equivalency into two wins.", sheds light on the "hell" that's in store if America doesn't turn back the "sale" of the American democracy.
I think for some, some, the accumulation of wealth has completely destroyed any sense of decency. If you would look into their eyes, you find that their is no soul there. The end game for them is not a theocracy but, a plutocracy that uses religion as a cudgel.

What we're seeing in deep red states like South Carolina is somewhat different than this.  The massive evangelical Churches, usually non denominational, are attempting to dominate local politics and community life.

They're increasingly huge, 5, 10 or even 20 thousand members.  They attempt to completely structure the lives of their members.  Many operate their own youth sports programs, undermining local recreational department and school programs.  Of course some operate their own schools now, undermining public education.  One here locally has opened it's own medical clinic in a poor neighobrhood, a faith based initiative these Republicans are happy to get government funding to run.  They run their own business networking program and dating systems.

Their goal is to level the competing community and government programs and force the community into dependence on them.  Once that has been accomplished they can manage the voting of their members efficiently and maitain poliitcal control of Town, County and State Goverment.  My congressman Tim Scott attends such a church, Seacoast where he preaches on occasion and that church is well along in implementing their agenda.

Their pastor doesn't tell people to vote for Mitt Romney from the Pulpit.  They're better organized than that.  They do have a lot of right wing speakers at their programs and they always carefully note that the church doesn't endorse candidates.  Everyone knows what is going on, but I'll bet they're on the right side of the IRS regulations.  If you comprehensively organize the lives of your members, you can communicate the necessary political instructions without shouting it from the Pulpit on Sunday.  I know liberals who attend that church to get clients for their businesses.  They're embarrassed by it all, but dependent on the income stream.

Makes you wonder how much is enough to these people. They have no patriotism or love for their country. They don't realize that the people ARE the country!
