  •  I'm glad the ad is running, but... (12+ / 0-)

... what a crappy execution. The announcer sounds like he's one step away from the grave.

Unfortunately the fundraiser audio is a little gravely too. I would go for a paraphrase of the 47% comment and a video of him saying "my job is to ignore those people", the punchline that comes through clear as a bell.

Purging predominantly minority voters and requiring them to present IDs to vote in the face of VIRTUALLY NON-EXISTENT VOTER FRAUD is RACISM! I hereby declare all consenting Republicans RACISTS until they stand up and object to these practices!

administration -- millions would be one step away from the grave.  I think the voice is apt.

sounds like he has a mouthful of____something.

I'm on the West side of Ohio - extremely red area.  I've been listening to the local rock station and, I'm not exaggerating, EVERY commercial break has a pro romney ad.  This is a very secure area for him and he's dumping tons of money here.  We've heard that next week and on till the election, TV and radio is going to be saturated with his ads........

if the sound's muted (which many people do during commercial breaks).

What's utterly inexcusable is the complete lack of any graphical content to make the point visually. No one with the sound muted will have any idea what this spot is about. They'll just see images (& not even bad images) of Mitt Romney. For all they'd know, it's a Romney commercial.

IMHO this is a completely worthless spot. AFSCME & Priorities USA might as well have set fire their money for all the good it'll do.

Whatever media geenyus thought this was a good idea should be fired instantly, & t before s/he wastes any more of their money, & a search be made for a replacement who can find his/her ass with both hands. Though it's probably way too late now.

but yes, better still with subtitles

        •  Sorry to say this, but YOU DON'T COUNT. (0+ / 0-)

And neither do I. We're both already voting for Obama (I hope!). The question is, whether this ad will persuade anyone who isn't already voting for the President to vote for him.

The content of the ad is unimpeachable. Its presentation is unforgiveable.

Remember, this spot is running in areas already (or soon to be) saturated with ads from both parties & a boatload of outside groups.

It has nothing visual or auditory to draw the viewer's attention. It's hard to follow and mushily narrated. It has no graphics to emphasize the message.

The likelihood is that very few people will even see the ad--they'll turn the channel or go do something else or mute the (mushy) sound. Those that do sit through it will pretty much have to work out the message for themselves--with no obvious reward for doing so.

Why in the world would anyone who counts pay any attention to it? Think about that & try to look at it from an uninvolved "swing voter's" point of view.

My answer: No reason they should--or will.

IMO it's money & air time badly spent if not completely misspent, & to the extent it sucks oxygen away from other spots that might make a difference, it's worse than useless.
