  •  I note the banks continue to carve down (6+ / 0-)

credit limits so that I am seeing my credit limits reduced to $300 for some cards while the same banks are offering my youngest son, who has returned to school and has $0 income, cards with $10K limits

I was reading with alarm that over the summer consumer debt skyrocketed. People had been doing a pretty good job of living within their means and then started racking up debt again. Some of it was for new cars (good for the economy) and student loans (which is its own sad story) but a lot was just buying-stuff-on-credit-cards.

Words have meaning. Our words will reflect what is in our souls.

Just got one but bought it for daughter who is out of work and expecting her third Nov 6.  Her old wheels had 350K on it and really was not reliable for getting her back and forth.  Also once baby is here, she will need wheels to return to work so that is the story as to why I have new wheels.
For myself, I continue to rely on my 2005 GMC (I buy a new truck every 27 years whether I need it or not)

My parents are Chrysler folks. They could afford to buy any car made. You know Chrysler makes some nice cars these days. Their 300 they just bought rocks. I am sure Mitt hates this, but alas it is a car he might want to ponder.
