    Obviously beef liver and chicken liver look nothing alike, but they taste the same, at least to me.  Chop it up, add some mayo and onion and celery, and you can't tell the difference.  Surely the rabbis had chop liver, how could Jews have lived without it?

    Veal makes sense because there would be no reason to treat regular chicken outside of the liver as meat.
