I truly was in a grumpy mood.

What upset me most was that instead of just telling me in so many words, but yes, he's still a good campaigner and that's what we're talking about,  I tended to get denials.

Now that you have explained what you meant, I can say I took it a totally different way.  I thought you referenced his time as president, not what Clinton is doing now.  I was agitated because while Sybil Liberty admitted Clinton's fault, everyone else seemed to be acting as if I had told a lie, Clinton wasn't part of the triangulation/corporatist deregulation, that he was just 'awesome' as a President.

I am still deadly serious about what I perceive as a thread of commentary about how Obama is so much lesser as  a President.  He has some terrible flaws in terms of his Presidency (drones, domestic spying, etc.), but in many ways, compared to Clinton and Bush, he seems, at least to me, as the truly more well rounded and ethical person.  He has awesome political skills, even if he is more technocrat than hail fellow well met in his demeanor.  He was a black man with a foreign, Islamic name,  who won the Presidency, while we were at war with a country formerly led by a man with a similar name, beating out Hillary Clinton, in part because women are actually still worse off in terms of acceptance among some groups than african american males,  but still by being the stronger candidate, and winning a national election, albeit in a very democratic year, by a sizeable margin.   That alone is one of the greatest political feats ever.
