  •  me too, I even felt sad as I always valued her (8+ / 0-)

cool, calm, collected, rational approach but she seemed to go along with the Ed and Tweety meltdown.

Now I much prefer Rev Al and Larry O above all the rest of them.

And now I am liking Soledad more and more.

    •  Yeah, Soledad has been very surprising in (8+ / 0-)

her role as an ACTUAL JOURNALIST -- so rare.

I felt sad, too, because I think Rachel M. has one of the finest minds in this nation but something has changed radically about her lately. I cannot figure out why she would change when she and the other liberal hosts were doing so well in the ratings just as they were. Dunno.

    •  Now, now. Let's cut Rachel some slack. (7+ / 0-)

She's been very good for a long time now, and that's not an easy job she's got there.
And let's not forget that no-one is perfect.
Having said that I'd have to say that it would have been nice had she pushed back on the hysteria a bit more with the fact that Romoney was lying his ass off. But you have to realize that resisting a tidal wave of irrational punditry is not all that easy.
I'm going to give Rachel a pass on this one because in my heart I know that she's good people.
Though I must note that on Monday's show she reported the older rather than the updated Gallup Poll, which  had the race even nationally, rather than the more accurate O+3.
It's a small and insignificant thing, but she's generally a reliable source and I hate to see her (or her staff more likely) getting careless. The news media is careless enough without her joining in too.

concern trolling.  She's human and vulnerable.  I don't watch television anymore, ever, so I don't see the day to day cable bullshit, and it's changed my life for the better.

Rachel can be brilliant which makes it more jarring for me when she wanders into lala-land.

I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.

    •  I also like The Cycle team (0+ / 0-)

or The Cyclists.  I think they're pretty good at dissecting this stuff and staying rational.
