why I lament the ageism in this country, which imo, is worse than any of the other bigotries, because ageism is color blind and sexual identity blind.  It simply dismisses you at a certain age.

Companies won't hire those in their late fifties or early sixties because they don't think it worth their investment---and obviously, I'm not talking about being a Wal-Mart greeter here.

Yet look at what Bill Clinton is doing at the age of 66. And I'm not just talking about what he's doing for the Democratic party. I'm talking about what he's been doing since he left office, all of it.

But if you're not Bill Clinton, if you're just an average guy or gal, the corporate culture of America dismisses you by at LEAST, your late fifties, despite your life long work and wisdom experience.

Maybe this would be OK, if that same culture was willing to let you retire, and not fight you on your benefits.  Maybe t his would be OK if our culture said, time to make room for the younger ones, but we'll take care of you.

This is the shame due to the GOP.  Those who will cut you off from a decent job at 60, and fight to not give you a decent way to keep on going for another 20 years.

It's utterly disgusting, and I for one would like to see more attention out there to the issue of ageism.
