He needs 269.   The House would elect him.   The Kerry states plus Ohio plus New Mexico is 269....

Fortunately, NV, IA look good, just in case we lose VA and FL....

Of course, a 269-269 tie would give a Romney-Biden administration...

Pretty hard for any congress to hand the election to the guy who doesn't win the popular vote.

      I post, therefore I am.

and I thought it would be impossible for the Supreme Court to rule that counting votes would constitute irreparable harm to George W. Bush.

The Republican House would definitely elect Romney, popular vote or not.

But as for science's post, ain't no way Romney wins NM.

Kerry states plus NM plus OH gives 269.

The GOP will have many more state delegations, even if Democrats take the House, and since it is likely that Democrats will keep the Senate, we would end up with a Romney-Biden administration.

Fortunately, Obama will probably take NV (and probably IA, VA, FL, CO....), so it won't matter.

The House votes for President and the Senate for VP.

And in the House, it's not individual votes.  Each state gets one vote.  So if you have, say 10 members, and 6 are for Romney, he would most certainly get that state's vote.

I think right now the GOP has more states with majorities.

But it's not gonna happen anyway.  It would be quite a circus but not one I ever want to see.
