dation to anyone with a disability if they have friends or family. Period! I have a brother with cerebral palsy and if that were the case, no one would have to make accomodations for him because we don't come from a family, we come from a friggn' clan! ADA is a federal law and dealing with the state social services is likely not going to get you anywhere. Have you tried contacting someone in the Dept of Health & Human Services in DC? They should be listed at the whitehouse.gov and could maybe help you get the ball rolling.

When you have a federal law on your side and a federal agency that was created to enforce it, especially one headed by someone like Kathleen Sebillus, you use it! No offense to any of the lawyers who have posted, this diarist is in need of an advocate and not all "government agencies" are the bad guys. If you can get access to a phone here's their # w/live people.

ADA Specialists are available to provide ADA information and answers to technical questions on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. or on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time).

      Good luck to you!
