      But only by a little bit.

      Suppose men vote for Romney 55-45 and women vote for Obama 55-45, so a 10-point gender gap.

      If you "convert" 2% of the voting pool from men to women, then you go from Romney winning that portion of the pool 1.1-0.9, to Obama winning it 1.1-0.9. So that would be worth a 0.4% difference in the margin. If the gender gap is more like 15%, then that would lead to a 0.6% difference in the margin.

      Does that make sense? There's probably a better way of explaining it.
