    childhoods, I don't blame them for lying whenever they could.  Maybe it helped them to survive the sadism inflicted on them by their parent.

    They had a father who used to smash their faces into food as a prank. A father who forced them to move rocks from one side of the yard on one day, then move those same rocks back to where they originally were the next day. Other days he forced them to dig holes, and then to fill them in.

    Prisoners in penal colonies learn to lie, too. It's a survival technique.
