  •  Cheers to Joe Biden for... (38+ / 0-)

    • saying "malarkey" to Paul Ryan
    • saying "bunch of stuff" to Paul Ryan
    • saying "incredible" to Paul Ryan

    • laughing in Paul Ryan's face over and over again.

Sneers to the whiny Republicans who think the vice president was rude. Rude would have been dropping trou and farting in Ryan's face. Rude but appropriate. Laughing was kind.

Cheers to Martha Raddatz for not being Jim Lehrer and asking generally good questions and keeping the lid on and the clock running.

Jeers to Martha for saying Social Security is going broke when she framed one of her questions.

Jeers to the constant drumbeat against Iran. It's not doubt true that the Obama administration is far more reluctant than a Romney administration would be to attack Iran. But the Iran-cannot-be-allowed-to-have-a-nuclear-weapon implies that if the day comes when the administration believes, as it does not now, that Iran is close to making a bomb, then it must be attacked.

Cheers to the high school students who stand on the corner near my balcony and help me keep up with new teen slang.

Don't tell me what you believe, show me what you do and I will tell you what you believe.

    •  The moment I heard "malarky"... (20+ / 0-)

I knew the debate was Biden's.  It was like, okay, he's off the leash.  This isn't gonna end well for the man-child in the seat across from him.

      Great debate.

AND because ol' Martha also called Social Security and Medicare "entitlement" programs.  I couldn't listen to anything else; I hit Mute.

WHEN oh WHEN are Media Morons going to STOP calling both programs "entitlements"?  They are Earned Benefits AND Pre-Paid, and those of us on Social Security know that Medicare is deducted from Social Security before the money is deposited in our checking accounts, so we never stop paying for Medicare insurance (before or after we retire).  It's better than paying for the profit-driven insurance by insurance corporations, but Congress Critters really do need to put some spending caps on the medical and pharmaceutical corporations.

The original reason I was told for the spike in costs years ago was "well, we have all this new equipment and it's expensive."  I think those things have now been paid for several times over and the shareholders must be happy with the dividends they are receiving from the medical and pharmaceutical and insurance corporations - aren't they?  Do they even realize that with ObamaCare we will be the ones giving them a higher increase in dividends because we will be forced to contribute our money to the profit margins of insurance, medical, and pharmaceutical corporations?  Time for spending caps, or even reductions for the costs of some of these tests.  Some tests need re-evaluating for their efficacy.

One of the heart tests I had done a year ago resulted in odd red and green fuzzy blob images, NO definitions of anything, and I'm still pissed about the test because I was thinking the test was for the dyes injected into veins/arteries to monitor blood flow.  How can anyone tell anything from indefinite fuzzy blobs that look like fuzzy abstract art?  Makes NO sense whatsoever.  Then the dr. said "Oh, the dye testing costs are not covered by Medicare.  You have to pay for that yourself."  Seriously?!?  The one test that might give a definite image of what's going on inside a vein or artery leading from the heart to the left arm & hand and needs to be checked to see why there's pain in the shoulder is not covered?  WHY?

I'm STILL looking for common-sense medical care.... and I KNOW Medicare is NOT an "Entitlement" since it's not "free welfare money."  Those who are disabled or retired and qualify for Medicare are still paying Medicare premiums, just as they did when they were young and working.

Why don't Media Morons [like Gung-Ho WarMistress "Let's go to war and occupy these other countries" Raddatz] know these programs are NOT "free welfare money = entitlements?"  I realize she gets off on war and the results of war, but hasn't anyone filled her in on domestic policies and what/who funds Social Security and Medicare?

I'm sick of attempts to steer this nation from principles evolved in The Age of Reason to hallucinations derived from illiterate herdsmen. ~ Crashing Vor
