  •  Another trick dreamed up by Karl Rove? (none)
We all know that Rove was behind getting the forged CBS memo in order to innoculate Bush from any criticism regarding his military service.  After all, the Texans for Truth campaign was just strarting to kick into high gear when the forged memo came out.

Now we have a similar situation where the Downing Street Memo exposing Bush's lies about WMD's in Iraq was just starting to get traction in the MSM.  So what does Rove cook up?  He creates a phony story about a Koran being flushed down a toilet so as to distract everyone's attention from the Downing Street memo.  Call me a tinfoil hat loony, but I really believe that this is a real possibility.

    •  I think you're right (none)
He tells us what we already know through other sources is true (Bush not serving when he didn't, torture in Iraq), but then discredits the story on a technicality unrelated to the other evidence.  This distracts us as well as tars all of us with a broad brush.

Anybody know of any other cases yet?

    •  The only thing phony about this (none)
Is that Rove is trying to blame the messenger.
