  •  Jack Kennedy answered the question for himself (18+ / 0-)

not for all fucking time and for everybody.  Unfortunately we live in a time where the consensus regarding the separation of church and state is under assault.  There is a movement by ministers to do political advocacy from the pulpit.  At no time since the nineteenth century has it been so acceptable to mix religion and politics.  The Catholic Bishops have been interjecting themselves into national politics. Asking the question is not beyond the pale.  One should, as was Jack Kennedy be eager to dispel any notion that as a public figure they would be beholden to outside influence because of his or her religious faith.  An unwillingness to do so, in this climate should be a warning sign that you are dealing with a theocrat. The question unfortunately needs to be asked.  Not just of Catholics but of all those who profess to be followers of authoritarian religious organizations.
