Here's a new trailer for 'Gangster Squad,' starring Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.

The film was originally set to be released on September 7th, 2012, but the release date was bumped into 2013 after the theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado. The original climax of 'Gangster Squad' had a scene in which mobsters fire at a theater full of moviegoers, shooting out into the auditorium from behind the screen.

Warner Bros. ordered reshoots, and the final act of the film has been changed.

    From WB's press release:

Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and—if he has his way—every wire bet placed west of Chicago. And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control. It’s enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop…except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O’Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen’s world apart.

But I would bet on 'Gangster Squad' being more drama than action film. There's something about the trailer that makes me believe most of the action sequences are present in those two and a half minutes.

I've heard nothing but good things about 'Argo.'
