Last night, as Biden was getting in great shots against Ryan, and our side was cheering up, it occurred to me that the rope-a-dope metaphor from last week should be stretched into rope-a-dope-a-dope, to describe the tag team handoff from Obama to Biden. Now it's back to Obama.

I love the tale you've spun, and the plausible and inspiring interpretation. If I think it's more likely improvised in the details, and made up on the fly, rather than all game-planned ahead of time doesn't detract from your argument.

Obama is a master of timing and momentum - he's a closer. But to intentionally take a big hit, in order to set up a rebound - I just don't know.

Nevertheless, you're spot on about the dynamic leading up to next week, about where things stand now. Romney has shot his wad, but Obama has plenty of dry powder.

..within a deep, wide, and over-arching conscious framework of strategy and intent.

I never was good at oratory, which involves memorizing a pre-written speech and delivering it word for word. But I won a couple dozen awards in extemp, impromptu, and debate, all of which involve live realtime improvisation around conceptual seeds, skeletal outlines, and/or argument/response flows. (I think that might have something to do with why I'm such a challenged writer, since my cortex seems to bypass my hands and be wired right to my mouth ;))

#3: ensure network neutrality; #2: ensure electoral integrity; #1: ensure ecosystemic sustainability.
