        First, I just felt distress for that poor woman. No one should die alone on a waiting room floor with no company, no hand to hold. Second, she didn't even have to die, had she been treated in time. Third, there is the recognition that this could happen to me as a self-employed lower middle class American, should Obamacare be repealed. And finally, what bothered me was the frenzied mobilization of resources after hospital staff realized that someone had died on the floor. If that much attention had been paid while she was alive, she might have been watching the debate last night!
         It's entirely representative of our broken health care system--huge amounts of resources expended in ways that do not improve anyone's health. Too much, too late.
         The hospital staff is just being human under inhuman circumstances. The fault lies in the inhumane for-profit health care system that we are inexplicably so attached to in this country.
