Drinking all that water made him look nervous. It doesn't matter why he was drinking it. As I have learned in the last week, the only thing that matters on a television debate stage is how you look. Body language is how you win or lose. So if poor Lyin Ryan works out so much that he's so dehydrated that he cannot go for 90 minutes during the one national televised VP debate without gulping copious amounts of water, too bad for him.

    •  That's a fair point. (1+ / 0-)

I'm more than willing to concede how it looked, but let's not dip into fantasy to explain the actual behavior.

He's a disgusting, dangerous little bastard. He gets no breaks on anything.

Two competing theories. Both plausible. (ie, people get dry mouth when nervous - true. Fitness buffs drink a lot of water - trute).  Neither of you know with certainty what was behind it. Why not acknowledge that either or both of you could be right?

        •  Because I think the nervous thing is overplayed. (0+ / 0-)

Rep Ryan's only real job in his life so far has been US Congressman. He's been in debates. I don't seem him as nearly as bright as he's held out to be, but I don't see him getting weak-kneed in that situation.
