    And if a senior cannot afford a joint replacement
    Their disability will put them in a nursing home.
    But, I'm old enough to remember when we had a "county farm," where indigent seniors were warehoused. Those physically able were expected to work helping to grow the vegetables that fed them. The rest got really minimal care until they died which didn't take too long.

    I was very young, but I recall my mother learning from a neighbor whose uncle was at the country farm that the people there were HUNGRY! After that, every time my mother baked a cake, she made another one to take out there and sometimes a pot of soup, too.

    Eliminate tax breaks that stimulate the offshoring of jobs.
