  •  it was perfectly clear - the right ends in 25 days (3+ / 0-)

Ryan made it perfectly clear.  In 25 days the U.S., including women voters, will know whether the Constitutional right to an abortion, established in 1973, will end.  Romney / Ryan have pledged to end legal abortions in the U.S.  Further, they will restrict access to birth control / contraceptive services.  If elected, they will publish an Executive Order immediately permitting employers to restrict employee medical plans that conflict with the employer's "moral or religious beliefs".  Employers can interpret that to include restrictions not only on abortion, birth control and contraceptives, but also on testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, testing for fetal abnormalities and genetic markers, ultrasounds to determine the gender of a fetus, possibly even post-rape tests and procedures.  As long as the employer can make a plausible argument that the procedure or test conflicts with the employer's "moral or religious beliefs", the employer will be able to exclude it from the employer medical plan.  We will know in 25 days whether the GOP's 39-year quest to outlaw all abortions (their party platforms have opposed all abortions with no exceptions every 4 years since 1980) is at hand.  Tick tock tick tock.  25 days and counting ....
