Forgive me. I like to keep tabs on the wing-nut media. I gain from their pain.

not had a press conference in awhile.  The truth is that the White House press core is so lame that Jon is actually more of a challenge.  I will be two days after the debate and Jon won't be shy about asking him tough questions if it does not go well.

Sorry but even if the media deserves it, I don't get why he and his team persist in pissing them off. I hate to say it, but the media still has some influence on undecided and independent voters. Media people are human: if you diss them constantly, they will be more prone to give you bad reviews, and never will give you the benefit of the doubt.

doubt, true journalists only care about one thing, digging out the truth.  We have very few true journalists left.  To say it hurts they feeling used to mean insulting their professional integrity but I am afraid today's crop are more in the mold of vindictive prima donna's(I am talking to you Chuck Todd and David Gregory) than true professionals.

        •  That's exactly what I'm saying. (0+ / 0-)

They ARE prima donnas and like it or not, they can hurt him because they are inclined to concentrate on the negative. Look at how they've always treated McCain favorably, because MCCain cultivated them. (I'm not asking that President Obama shamelessly panders to the pundits like McCain used to do , but at least he could stop dissing cable news in public, and he could give a bit more access to the national media maybe.)

IF journalists in Washington were TRUE professionals, Barack Obama wouldn't have ANY problem with them. He would respect them in the first place, but most importantly, those journalists would cover the President and the White House FAIRLY, and wouldn't be influenced by the right wing echo chamber and fall into the traps of faux scandals or biased narratives.

has done 60 minutes, Letterman, the Daily Show and the View.  It was where he is likely to reach and influence the majority of average Americans.  Most people just do not watch the news shows anymore except Fox News.  We watch MSNBC but we are already support him and he knows it.  The average American is poorly informed by choice.  They may have their excuses(I work and have a family) but that has always been the case, they simply find the process and many of the people distasteful(can you blame them).

            •  It's not about reaching people, but pundits (0+ / 0-)

It's about counteracting the constant negativity of the punditry. They NEVER give him the benefit of the doubt, they NEVER give him a chance. They always spin everything negatively. Oh no question that the right wing think thanks are very powerful in Washington. But what I'm saying is the Obama team has chosen to not interact with the Beltway much; their relation with the DC press seems strained and in the end, it's more harmful than helpful.

    •  Thanks (ahem) for that link. (0+ / 0-)

Truthfully, that is one sick and pathetic group of gripers there.

Democrats promote the Common good. Republicans promote Corporate greed.
