    and the photos. I live out on the high plains of western Kansas, a favorite wintering spot for Red Wing hawks, Northern Harriers, Broadwings and Kestrels, to name a few. Occasionally, we will spot an eagle, though they are few and far between.
    After reading your diary and Lineatus' a few weeks back on all the varieties of red wing colorations, I have pretty much given up on id'ing them as they soar over the plains looking for food, and will just enjoy their beautiful variety.
