    And doesn't that confound any discussion of "rock" origin?

    A single sample could have come from . . . well . . . anywhere . . . or be a local anomaly representing impact ejecta rather than "typical" local geology.  Even if it does represent Martian mantle rock it didn't necessarily reach the surface through vulcanism, or achieve its elemental composition through subduction.  Not enough data to conclude anything, I think . . .

    Anyway, we all know that Mars is only 6000 years old, so this is either fake or another of god's tricks to test our faith . . .
