    There's a very narrow path close to the moon for objects to get flung out of earth orbit by gravitational interaction with the moon. That pathway out infrequently lines up with Mars.

    There are other tracers of origin not discussed here that will show that this rock is from Mars. For example, stable isotopes have unique signatures that can be used to distinguish rocks from different sources.
