    endorse candidates by name. Both sides stretch the limits on this rule. I recall Presidential candidate Bill Clinton speaking from pulpits in black churches. However, if you start printing flyers endorsing a candidate by name, and the name of a church, you can put your tax status in jeopardy.

    Outside of not being able to endorse candidates by name religious group and charities have very wide latitude, under IRS rules, regarding their public policy and political activities. Remember the role black churches played in the civil rights movement.
