  •  You can't blame us. Many here were so (9+ / 0-)

disappointed in 2000, we really had the rug pulled out from under us. 2004 was not that much better. Both times we really expected to win, hell, we had the better candidates both times. In 2008 we were not only celebrating history by Barack Obama winning, we were also celebrating that finally the right man won. When we see trouble, we can not help but get overly concerned, we have walked down that road before.

    •  Yep. I had the same kinda emotional swings... (7+ / 0-)

...and giving a gift to our opponents. Negativity is like a bad cold. It spreads quickly and infects other people. If you are feeling panic, don't come here to spread it. Panic days are not posting days. Those are days to do something else, esp. positive work to win election. Telling people how screwed we are or how worried you are by the ghost of past elections (back when the GOP wasn't in trouble with demographics and still had wedge issues and hadn't crashed the economy yet) is worse than useless. We all get worried, but this is a movement. I think it is really SELFISH to take time and space up with "uh-oh" posts that don't at least pivot to constructive, let's work harder messaging. What happened in past elections is history (I like history) but it is not what is happening now.  So, yes I can blame the nervous narcissists who HAVE TO TELL EVERYONE IN THE WHOLE WORLD that Reagan is coming to get us...Again!

      •  I try to avoid posting my negative feelings, and (0+ / 0-)

always try to defend our position and look for the silver lining, however, I will not stop worrying until on Nov 6th Barack Obama is declared the projected winner. A landslide would be great if we could get it. There is something to be said for worry, it gets people out to vote if you really care.
