    •  See I don't think so (0+ / 0-)

Changing demographics in the state because of people moving meant and state control of the legislature by Republicans during a redistrict meant A LOT.

They determined that the district had to few, so in addition to carving IN-9 slightly smaller, thus adding redder parts to IN-8 they also weakened IN-4 by giving some parts to IN-8

In short, the State Republicans here shored up existing districts and weakened two of the three as far as Democrats go.

Nothing will likely ever break the stranglehold we have on IN-1

SouthernINDem, a maven of IN and KY politics, said that more than a few Dem counties were moved out of IN-09 and into IN-08.  It's a few points more Dem.

It added Dubois, Spencer and Perry Counties. Lost Putnam, Fountain and Warren. Perry and Spencer voted for Obama in 2008, and Perry was one of four counties to back the Dem for Secretary of State in 2010.

            •  True, but we've also seen pop loss in (0+ / 0-)

Posey, Knox, and Sullivan which could drag the district down
