  •  I feel bad about NY-22 and NY-23 (0+ / 0-)

I grew up in the region (Binghamton) and that region is Democratic. (I have given money to both candidates, and both are very capable).   I really think the DCCC should have and should be investing more money into both districts because both are winnable for Democrats in spite of redistricting.  Both include large rural and small town swaths combined with liberal towns and it would represent a great are for Democrats to market themes to small town Americans.

    •  We NY-22/23ers are not giving up hope! (0+ / 0-)

Both Dan and Nate are great candidates, and they are both running against freshman Republicans, not long-term incumbents.  Hanna, the so-called "most moderate Republican in the house" voted with the Republicans 85% of the time.  Reed (who got elected after the Eric Massa fiasco) courts the Tea Partiers.  They are both pretty out of step with the politics of their newly drawn districts.  Yeah, they have a ton of money because it is being funneled to them.  But money can't be everything.
