    There is no making excuses for this, I'm disappointed nycyoungin would do so.

    I don't think anyone has been contemplating whether Thompson actually believes Obama was born in Kenya.  That's not relevant.  What's relevant is that making that remark, either seriously or in jest, is racist.

      Especially when said son isn't just some loser somewhere running a Talk Show or something, doing his own thing. He's involved with the Thompson campaign, and was in a meeting with high profile Republicans.

      taken. The comments were obviously inappropriate and racist, and I'm not making excuses. It's obviously not ok. All I'm saying is that I'm tired of these things being what our elections are about. I don't want a misguided douchebag dominating our political discourse, especially when it's not the candidate himself/herself.
