  •  I'm not so sure about this (12+ / 0-)

I suspect this is Halperin's (and GOP)'s attempt to discredit the entire debate - knowing it might very well turn out badly for Romney

    •  I've been nervous about Crowley's attitude (5+ / 0-)

that obviously leans right and I don't trust her to be any more fair than she was in in 2000, 2004 or 2008, but really, it wouldn't surprise me there is an attempt to discredit the debate.  I've actually been listening to the comments today about how it will probably be a wash, blah blah.

Halperin is such a tool, isn't he?

I have no doubt that 1) Mark Halperin has displayed a fairly consistent bias for Mitt Romney throughout the general election campaign and 2) the GOP knows that Mitt can't pull the same trick out of his hat as he did in the first debate.

Still I find it very interesting that both campaigns would join forces to shed a spotlight on how this debate would be moderated.

The two campaign counsels, Bob Bauer for President Obama and Ben Ginsberg of the Romney campaign, jointly reached out to the commission to express concern that the moderator’s comments seemed to be in direct conflict with the terms of their agreement. The commission sent back word that it would discuss the matter with Crowley and reconfirm her function. It is not known if such a conversation has taken place.
