  •  I think a lot of "undecideds" are coming home (17+ / 0-)

to papa--i.e. the white, more conventional and straightlaced guy who seems more like your dad or boss than some motivational speaker--after toying with the idea of voting for the more likeable black guy. It's less overt racism than a reversion to habit. I.e. stupid people doing what stupid people do--what's expected of them.

Bill Maher said the same thing: given a choice between a white perceived centrist and a black perceived centrist,  undecideds will vote white.

Obama won 2008 with a huge outpouring of young and minority voters.  Will those voters show up in three weeks?  Or will the usual liberal malaise set in?

      •  Yes They Will Show Up (7+ / 0-)

Unless you believe that blacks don't care if the first black president is defeated by a MORMON. (If you don't know what I mean, see History of Mormon Church and black Americans)

Unless you believe that Hispanics don't care about the Dream Act or what happened in AZ.

Unless you believe that young people don't care about  their health care and their college tuition increases.

I believe the 2012 electorate will be more like 2008 than 2010.

I also believe that polls of RV are more accurate than polls of LV.

And yes, I've seen this on the ground here in VA where I keep bumping into OFA (and Kaine) volunteers canvassing and registering voters.

Plus, early voting is up in Democratic areas. I voted last Friday BTW.

The only "liberal malaise" is in the MSM (which most folks don't watch) and on websites such as this.

Stop your bitching people and go canvass!
