  •  So Obama is Carter and Romney is Reagan?!? (0+ / 0-)
    •  I think the situation is comparable, yes (0+ / 0-)

If you'd like, I can list the similarities.

        •  Let me preface by saying ... (1+ / 0-)

... that Obama is no Carter, nor is Romney a Reagan.

That said, the similarities in the nation's situation abound.  A Republican governor running against a Democratic incumbent; unemployment in the pooper; housing market weak; the Middle East in uproar; U.S. embassies under attack; U.S. influence upon the world lessening; rising fuel prices (remember the whining when gas hit a buck a gallon?  Checked the pump price lately?); grocery prices outrunning wages; government growth outrunning the private-sector economy.  And, like Carter, Obama came into office supported by a lot of voters who usually didn't vote Democratic, and he failed to deliver, or at the very least, he failed to satisfy their expectations, realistic or not.

Do I believe Romney will fix all our problems?  No.  Do I think he'll win in November?  Probably so.  The economy almost guarantees it.

No matter which man wins, I'll hope and pray that America does well under his watch.

          •  all your points seem accurate except (0+ / 0-)
government growth outrunning the private-sector economy
Private sector job growth, private sector profits, etc. are at high if not record levels.
