    Although I'll nitpick that 'as you want' in the fat and protein line should be in terms of actual hunger.  I can overeat and gain again if I keep snacking on things like beef sticks - I 'want' them in terms of liking the taste and can fall back into evil grazing habits, but if I actually listen to my body, I know that it doesn't 'want' them.

    Everything else you said falls right in line with my own experience with low-carbing/low calorie, high protein/fat.

    Kill the sugar, kill the alcohol, kill the breads.  I still use a few low (net) carb tortillas that are mostly dietary fiber in terms of the carbs they yield, but also because I stumbled across the info that I probably need at least 10g net carbs a day to prevent muscle tissue breakdown to produce alanine when my body can't generate enough ketones to keep my brain happy.

      Eating VLCD has liberated me from cravings, made me feel satisfied, not hungry, and helped me lose and keep off my extra weight.  I tried other approaches, with limited success, and was always hungry, and constantly thinking about food.  Replacing the carbs with good fats and proteins means I can eat as much as I want, because I do not have cravings for more, more, more.
