  •  My sister wes a biology major. (10+ / 0-)

Now that she is a Republican, she no longer believes in the big bang theory or evolution. She does believe all the birther nonsense and that Obama is a communist. She is so pro-life she threw her seventeen year old's birth control pills away, when she found them. She is educated but something disconnected in her brain when she "got saved" and became a republican. Go figure!

    •  Ahhh..don't think it was God who changed her (9+ / 0-)

I think it was the fan club.  I am a person of faith and I am liberal.  I believe in creation but don't discount the age of earth and the universe but I do not believe as many do about the big bang...I just don't have that much faith.
It is possible to believe and have faith in a higher power and still believe in science.  You just have to not be so literal.

Please, please, please, will Gates or somebody do a clinical study on the brains of all of us? How does a scientists' or technicians brain get rewired like that?

Is there a need to have a group where you don't need to think? To think/worry about the big picture?

Where you give it to the God, or to the head of the Republican party, then forget about all the important stuff?

Forget about everybody but your insular group?

Too early to make my brain hurt.

My personal computer is limited, can't post without tagging on. Community computer better. Pardon tagging to comments, spelling, please.
