  •  But October 4-11 was also during post-debate (3+ / 0-)

    Romney bounce.

    •  Everything is now... (4+ / 0-)

"post-debate Romney bounce". We're still in it. It's the new state of the race, unfortunately... And after tonight's debate there may be another new state of the race... hopefully for the better.

      •  probably true.. (1+ / 0-)

but the 4th & 5th were Obama's worst of the entire cycle.

        •  Were they? (0+ / 0-)

That's what we thought originally, but then the new PPP poll this week was even worse than last week's, including a completely terrible Sunday sample... I'm guessing that Sunday sample was the worst day of polling so far, and there was no news event to really coincide with it, meaning that it was likely an outlier day, but I'd rather have outlier good days than outlier bad ones.

          •  maybe but???? (0+ / 0-)

I don't like to unskew polls relating to party affiliation but PPP's poll had 44% conservative(too  many IMHO) and just 16% liberal(too low IMHO).

The thing is just about every poll showed Obama's worst days to have been the 10/4-5 ,state as well as national whereas even PPP's state polls showed good news for Obama this past weekend. It does seem Gallup & PPP's national have shown some problems this past weekend but Reuter's, Rand,IBD ,Politoc and ABC showed some good signs for the president.

    •  I think Romey has surged a bit in last 4 days (0+ / 0-)

The Benghazi narrative is everywhere.  You can't turn on the TV or pick up a magazine/newspaper without hearing about it.  Furthermore, the coverage is universally very, very bad for Obama.  I know many will disagree with me here, but I think the "we" distinction from Biden in the debate and the WH the next day was a huge blunder.

Benghazi was classic Rove - take an incident with little or no true political implications and wrap a false narrative around it to create the perception that Democrats are weak.  Rove does it every election and the MSM falls for it every election, regardless of how bad his lies are.  Makes you wonder just how daft the beltway media is.

from yesterday. I have a problem when Gallup said +4 or +5(I forgot which one) without naming how each stack up in particular swing state. YouGuv at least polled each swing state. Also, Gallup had NM,MI,PA as swing states.. They are not... Sorry, I'm rambling along, but that Gallup poll from yesterday pissed me off with their methods........
