  •  He actually is very good at deal-making (6+ / 0-)

apparently, because he's so cold and heartless but looks and sounds like he's not.  His whole schtik has always been about creating an illusion.

a facilitator and/or a fixer than the actual deal maker.  He doesn't appear to have much of an interest in facts or figures and focuses on the end result, as in the ends justify the means.

I don't give him much credit as a thinker and believe that he's been enabled all through his academic and business career.

But, I think it's a mistake to underestimate him in the business arena.  Just my 2cents.

        •  Willard relies on his contacts which (4+ / 0-)

he's nurtured all of his life.  Marriott comes to mind as well as the connections which put him in the Olympics.  I've read a few comments about his involvement in the Olmypics and the concensus is that he was a facilitator and used his business contacts to make things happen.

I just don't see him as a detail guy or one who can see things through from start to finish.

if a creepy sociopath like romney can succeed to the rarified heights he has, something's really, really wrong with the system.
