"And while it was regarded as pretty good evidence of criminality to be living in a slum, for some reason owning a whole street of them merely got you invited to the very best social occasions."

The Romneybot was discussing the share of income taxes.  Interestingly, there is another interpretation.

Given:  Romney will cut taxes on the middle class.
Given:  Romney will leave the percentage of income taxes paid by the wealthiest at 60%
Assume:  Romney will not tax the poor more (for discussion purposes - I don't believe it for a moment.)

Possible result:  Romney will cut the absolute taxes the wealthy pay, leaving the percentage of taxes paid the same.

      (Not using real numbers)
Assume that income taxes taken in are $1 trillion dollars
If the top 5% pay $600 billion in income taxes now
And the Middle class currently pay $350 billion.
And Romney cuts the middle class tax burden by $50 billion

To remain at 60%, the rich will have to pay only $570 billion dollars to remain at a 60% share of income taxes.

Either way, the math and the statements don't seem to add up to what he wants us to believe he means.

.... you could edit your comments?  I'm there now with this.  I think its getting near to bedtime.

"To remain at 60%, .... to remain at a 60% share of income." Terrible.
