  •  Voted in Cobb County, GA yesterday (9+ / 0-)

Advance voting began on Monday here. The line was 1:17, down about half an hour (I hear) from the previous days.

Wife and I were discouragingly cancelled by a pair of Republican women ahead of us talking about one of their husbands' Medicaid-paid operations.  But right ahead of them was a premed student.  They were chatting with her much of the time, much of it about her volunteer work in a hospital.  At one point they asked her "Are you a Republican, dear?"  She put on a tight, sweet smile and said, "I think you know how I'm going to answer that."  So that's a net +1 for Obama within our little cluster.

Cobb is a Republican county best known for losing hostship of volleyball in the 1996 Olympics because of 1993 "Family Values" resolution (also known for Newt Gingrich and for anti-evolution stickers in textbooks) and there certainly appeared to be a noticeable dose of presumably Republican voters in line.  I would guess, however, that the turnout yesterday afternoon was predominantly Democratic.  I say that based on age, T-shirts, general vibe, etc.

Ideology is when you give the answers before you know the questions.
