    Weber's Protestant Work Ethic is being played out on the current political rhetorical scene where economic prosperity reassures people that they are favored by God, with the corollary that economic disadvantage is indicative of an immoral, shiftless, godless life.

    Thus, those with money are Chosen by God.

      I wonder if there might be the makings of a Weber revival out there somewhere. I did an earlier diary on Mitt and the 'spirit of capitalism' -- an attempt to explain his erratic campaign persona.
