  •  The reason the soup kitchen made the statement` (11+ / 0-)

that they did (that the Ryan team surprised them and was there without their prior permission and knowledge) is that refraining from giving public support to any particular candidate is a requirement of certain tax-exempt charity statuses.  They know that they might lose their charity status if people believed that Ryan campaigned there with their permission.

This means that if they're smart, they'd have to deny access to Biden as well, for exactly the same reason.

    •  But as posted above, that's all lies (0+ / 0-)

      the event was pre-approved.

Why am I not all that surprised to find Catholics lying?  They  seem like a great fit for Ryan . . .

      •  Joe Biden is a Catholic too. (0+ / 0-)

So am I. So are quite a few other Kossacks. You might want to put that broad brush away.

        •  Just curious, why is there such a copious amount (0+ / 0-)

of knee jerk support for this lying bullshitter right here at DailyKos?    Is that just something that goes with the territory of being religious and the rest of should just accept that and STFU?  You know, since we're a rather small minority and all that . . .

          •  I wouldn't know. (0+ / 0-)

I haven't defended any liar, and can't read other people's minds. Are you going to defend your apparent bigotry? This:

Why am I not all that surprised to find Catholics lying?
            You want to defend that?

            •  That's not bigotry, it's a simple statement of (0+ / 0-)

fact - when an entire organization seems to have little purpose other than to lie, obfuscate, or whatever term you want to give it - rather than accept responsibility for it's massive and ongoing misdeed (hundreds of thousands of sexually abused children in particular) - what other conclusion can a person draw?  At least a person who' s not involved in the cover-up . . .

And as this article shows the rot goes from the very top to the very bottom.

For the life of me, I can't understand how someone can continue to belong to such an organization and then feign outrage when it's brought to light.

              •  For the life of me, (0+ / 0-)

..I can't understand why you expect to make a bigoted statement that impugns the integrity of ALL Catholics and get no pushback.

Why am I not all that surprised to find Catholics lying?
You expect me to lie? Joe Biden? John Kerry? Yeah, lyin' Ryan's a Catholic too, but you know what? Any large group of people will have its share of liars. Why should your bigotry be any more tolerated here than antisemitism or racism?

I'm done with you . You're a bigot, and there's no point in talking to you.

                Cogito, ergo Democrata.

                •  It's life experience (0+ / 0-)

you belong to an organization that is absolutely reprehensible.

If you don't want to be smeared, as you call it, with their sins, get the fuck out.  It's not really that difficult of a concept . ..

And yes, ALL Catholics ARE responsible - by remaining part of the system voluntarily, you are enabling and condoning it.

      •  Where is that claim? (0+ / 0-)

You claim this was posted above.  If so I don't see it.  Point it out.
