When's the last time anyone heard someone in either party say something true AND substantive in a debate? While my memory isn't what it used to be, I'm scratching my head. The key to "winning" a debate is to seem confident and commanding and get in as many focus group-tested sound bites as possible. The other side does it by lying. Our side is more into truth-telling. But neither side gets too deep into the issues. Apparently voters find that too boring.
