  •  NC Voter Registration Numbers for 2012 (6+ / 0-)

On January 7, 2012, Dems comprised 43.88% of registered voters in NC (2,725,296 raw number) while Reps made up 31.43%; Unaffiliated/Indies made up 24.47%.

As of October 13, 2012, Dems comprise 43.07% of registered voters (2,818,932 raw number).  Reps' share, however, also shrank to 30.97%. Indies now make up 25.67% of registered voters in NC -- an increase of over 1 percent from the beginning of the year.

That being said African-Americans share of registered voters climbed over the past year, going from 21.75% in January (1,350,867 raw number) to now an astounding 22.30% (1,459,751 raw number) -- a jump over half a percentage point.

Just so everyone remembers, PPP had an interesting chart from the 2008 election showing that if African-American of those who vote gets to 23%, Obama would win.  Obama actually won with just a smidge over 21% of the voting electorate being African-American.

The O ground game/voter registration effort has been magnificant.
