      ftp://www.app.sboe.state.nc.us/...

      The file is absentee11xx06xx2012.zip

But be warned, it is a big huge 183 megabyte text file!

Based on your charts, more than 50% of people voted early in 2008 (I have 4.3 million total for 2008). Does that seem correct? If so, and we're ahead of the 2008 pace by more than 100k, are we going to see more than 5 million total votes, or just everyone voting before 11/6?

A majority of people voted early in 2008.

As for how final turnout will be, that's a good question, and we can only really guess.

Some of the early voting we are seeing now is probably reflective of an eventual increase in turnout. But part of it is probably reflective of people who normally vote on election day voting early instead.

I think 5 million would be a pretty steep increase. I'd be surprised if it was any more than 4.8 million or so at the max, and probably somewhat less.

in the same location, but it's dated. The detailed file goes through 10/19, the detail only through 10/18.

Also, you may want to update the dates in the section - you have Saturday as 10/18 and it should be 10/20. :)
