  •  Morning, MomCat (9+ / 0-)

    Great to see you.

I love the autumn but don't like the shortening days.  I look forward to the point at which the days start getting longer again.

I wonder what kind of winter we will have this year.  I tend to think it will be like last year, that this is the new normal.  But we'll see.

    •  A bit chilly this AM (7+ / 0-)

I had the heat on for awhile to take the chill off the house. That made the cats very happy, especially our old guys.

The "kids" are off to Rheinbeck for the Sheep & Wool Festival and won't be back until late tonight. Dr. TMC is "on the road" again, so I am his "designated hitter" and "cat sitter."

This is a very quiet house. :-)

      •  Low 40's in GA when I woke up (6+ / 0-)

        I love it.

      •  Well that's nice (5+ / 0-)

that you have a quiet house today, as long as it doesn't last too long.

My two younger ones are here today, my oldest is up at school after being at Yale on Friday and Saturday, and KBO (Granddad Dude) is on his way to Maryland to see the grandkids.   So it's quiet here for now too.

We're heading to Guitar Center to get my youngest's birthday present.  Middle son is in the last stages of recording an album with his band partner so they've been heads down busy all summer really but especially now that the "release" is only a couple of weeks away.  And I haven't heard any reports from the oldest yet on how the debate at Yale went.  I am guessing that he is sleeping in today.  He's on the run all the time.  I've been worrying all week that the quilt I got for him is too thin and if he has enough long sleeved and warm clothes (since it was in the 90s when he packed for college).  I did get a woven throw to put at the end of the bed but that's pretty thin too.
