  •  We are having turkey for the extended family (9+ / 0-)

but I am the veggie cooker and eater. Since I am loathe to turn on my oven at other times, this year I will take advantage of having it on by roasting almost all the veggies. I'm roasting sweet potatoes, acorn squash, brussel sprouts, green beans, and for dessert, a pumpkin cheesecake (this is a compromise between those who hate pumpkin pie and those who insist on some form of pumpkin). This year my daughter is dismembering (shudder) the two turkeys and roasting the parts separately. I also just decided that I want to make bueoregon's Vegetarian Nut Loaf! It sounds great!. And the dressings (cornbread and many-grain bread) will be baked in pans. This is all a long ways from my old, simple days, but I expect fun and deliciousness (and a lot of washing up).
